  Pataskala Driver Training Course Details

   The in-car phase will consist of eight (8) hours of behind-the-wheel instruction; during those eight hours, we will work on the correct uses of indicators and controls, the effects of nature on driving, proper attitudes, maneuvering the automobile, defensive driving and driving in various types of traffic.  Some of those different traffic situations will include: rural driving, driving in light traffic areas, driving in heavy traffic, driving in a multi-level parking garage, angle parking, u-turns, railroad crossings, three-point turnabouts, incline parking, head-in parking, lots of  lane changing, passing, highway and expressway driving (We will get on and off of I-70 at least 4 times) and, of course, lots of maneuverability, which replaced the parallel parking test about 25 years ago.

Obtaining An Operator’s License, Basic Controls & Equipment, Basic Maneuvers, The New GDL Law,  Signs, Lines & Signals, Right-of-Way Rules, Ohio’s Point System Law, Speed Limits, Equipment Regulations,  Railroad Crossing Safety, Organ Donation, Defensive Driving, The Smith System & The SIPDE System, Using Your Eyes Effectively, Managing Visibility, Space & Time, Breaking The Accident Chain Of Events, Sharing The Roadway, City Driving, Rural Driving & Freeway Driving, Driving The Modern Roundabout, Adverse Driving Conditions, Night Driving, The Laws of Nature, Parking On An Incline, Vehicle Emergencies, What to do At the Scene of An Accident, Occupant Restraints, Impact Movies,

Driver Fitness & Responsibilities, Drugs & Alcohol, Road Rage, Insuring, Maintaining & Buying A Car, What To Do When You Are Pulled Over By The Police, Avoiding Distracted Driving, Gas Pump Safety, SUV Safety, and Review.

 

Also there will be a good deal of relevant discussion of the topics and a number of videos designed to reinforce learning, and affect attitude will be shown as well.
